Full Gear: Gloomed to Fail


Hello gamers. Full Gear is still in, well, full gear and it's going well. The last area, the Cellkeep, has been completed! This essentially ensures the game can now be fully tested for balance and bugs. For me, at least.


The changelog is long and will therefore be here instead of in the main post. Bottom line: you're getting a new area! The Wasteland, filled with water, ice and emptyness, is now also in the demo!

There's also Boosts, some new Cogwheels, controller support, and a whole bunch of balance changes and bugfixes. As usual, your save file is retained, so don't worry about losing any goals you got earlier.

In the meantime, I'll be adding Full Gear. And music, the final quest, boss sounds, and lastly... the final boss. Have you figured out who it's gonna be? She won't be happy you're here.

Ready for the changelog? Yeah, me neither.

  • Added: the Wasteland is now available in the demo, bringing the amount of areas to four!
  • Added: Boosts! Tired of dying? Make the game a little (or a lot) easier.
    • In Modern Mode, a simple Goal needs to be completed to unlock a Boost.
      • In Traditional Mode, all Boosts are always available.
  • Added: three very, VERY special cogwheels...
    • The SWITCH has only one cog - with regeneration in it. Heal every turn... without any other tokens.
    • The FLIPPER has two cogs and two slots! However, it has "half-regeneration", a much worse regeneration for obvious reasons...
    • The INFINI-COG has no cogs. Has six. Has one. Has nineteen. Has infinite. Has any amount you want - but no regeneration.
  • Added: controller support! Connect a controller and check its controls in Settings. Or remap everything!
  • Added: more attack animations! Spear stab, sword slash, hammer slam, double blades, and one for each Boss weapon.
  • Added: you can now shift-click Tokens to move them instantly 
  • Added: you can now left-click to advance conversations
  • Added: you can now press space to exit spyglass menus
  • Added: effects now show if they're a buff, debuff, or neutral
  • Added: 7 new Drone Icons
  • Added: a bunch of new sounds
  • Removed: angry Lead Engineers when you get Curse
  • Buffed: chests appear more often in a "better" form.
  • Buffed: Guns now appear with 3 bullets instead of 2
  • Buffed: Bosses' special attacks now scale with level
  • Buffed: Burst and Flame token now scale with bosses beaten
  • Nerfed: Fruit now heals for less base values
  • Changed: Drones now stop moving when their target is in range
  • Changed: making a Drone now randomizes the next drone's name/color/icon automatically
  • Changed: the Flame, Crit and Recharge tokens are now a bit bigger
  • Changed: Corruption particles are a bit reduced
  • Fixed: Bells having overly long (and wrong) descriptions
  • Fixed: Chain Connectors showing as Connectors
  • Fixed: Ancient Modernization's Insight token disappearing
  • Fixed: no walking animation when running with a key pressed
  • Fixed: Range being shown incorrectly in the inventory
  • Fixed: Blast/Flamethrower Arms often not visible as third drone arm
  • Fixed: Specimen Generator drawing your Max Health a little too high
  • Fixed: throwing a Setup onto any Trap would disable the Setup (the old trap is now destroyed.)
  • Fixed: throwing a Setup onto your own tile would duplicate it
  • Fixed: holding Shift and Z then clicking an item would duplicate it
  • Fixed: walking was interrupted when walking to an enemy, then being attacked
  • Fixed: Bonus and Malus Attack/Accuracy/Defense/Resist/Sight now count for crit/drone health/max shield/food heal/vision range, respectively
  • Fixed: Corruption showing "resist" when nothing was actually resisted
  • Fixed: Crash when using the Steam Collector
