Full Gear: Running on Steam
Full Gear (demo) » Devlog
Hello, gamers! Full Gear now also has a free demo on Steam for better (or worse?) accessibility. It's just on the normal page, https://store.steampowered.com/app/2212500/Full_Gear/.
I'm still working on the music, but right now, a lot of bugfixes are in order. I don't know how much longer I'll keep updating the itch page, but hopefully itch and Steam will remain paired.
Anyway here's the changelog for good measure.
- Full Gear is now in Demo Mode for Steam. This effectively means:
- Instead of four areas, you get two random ones.
- "DEMO" appears all over the place.
- Joining for the first time immediately sends you to the tutorial, then the opening cutscene.
- Added: You can now go... Full Gear.
- Added: four new Lost Chests that contain three storage expansions... and one powerful item.
- The Bell Chain holds all your Bells neatly in one place, saving precious inventory space.
- The Bullet Holster grants no more worrying about bullet space. Holds scrap, too!
- The Bomb Pouch keeps track of all your Bombs in a neat package. Also, setups go in there.
- You'll find these chests at the very corners of the world...
- Added: you can now Quickslot parts! (And the extra inventory slots, as well.) No real use for it, though.
- Added: map icons for bosses
- Added: sounds for Bosses
- Added: sounds for Traps
- Added: a "toggle icons" button on the map
- Added: some bullet textures for the player
- Added: version number to title screen (not updated in beta)
- Added: mode and goals indicator to title screen
- Removed: for safety reasons, you can no longer Quickslot items when using utilities.
- Changed: game now pauses on lost focus.
- Changed: enemy scaling works differently now. A little attack here, a little health there...
- Changed: to make it more accessible, Chained Connectors now have Reach instead of +1 Range.
- Changed: swapped around some Geary rarities.
- Geary Screwdriver is quite strong, and is now Silver quality.
- Geary Handsaw is VERY strong, and is now Gold quality.
- Geary Engine is meh, and is now Copper Quality.
- Buffed: Drone Cores are now more common
- Buffed: the Arsenal Chest now contains +3 Great Bullets.
- Buffed: upon beating a boss, each Bullet on the ground has a chance to be upgraded
- Nerfed: Wrathed enemy chance (5% of Curse to 3% per Curse)
- Nerfed: Blazing Trap (3 to 2 base Fire damage)
- Nerfed: Red Hot Trap (5 to 4 base Fire damage)
- Nerfed: Scout base Sight (30 to 20)
- Nerfed: "Green Gears" no longer makes food require no turns to eat
- Nerfed: "Song of the Waters" no longer halves food amounts
- Fixed: crash when having active drones with the Infini-Cog
- Fixed: rare softlock when skipping turns with a Drone
- Fixed: slightly changed the intro conversation to point to the tutorial, if needed.
- Fixed: some Utilities didn't have sound
- Fixed: clicking a Utility in a forcefield would both attack the forcefield and open the utility
- Fixed: Landmarks remained visible on death
- Fixed: typing E in typable parts would not be possible
- Fixed: Invulnerable would always negate status effects instead of nullifying their damage
- Fixed: Invulnerable would not protect against Bell Tower damage
- Fixed: bosses in the lobby would appear after seeing them (instead of beating them)
- Fixed: the cogwheel GUI would be in the way when on the far right in the dungeon
- Fixed: "Her Scars Last" description being incomplete
- Fixed: Drones would stop walking towards target despite not being able to fire
- Fixed: Traps would spawn inside utilities
- Fixed: "play run on exit to base" would also work in the Tutorial
- Fixed: dead Drones would display particles
- Fixed: pressing Esc on finishing quests results in permanently no Kind Regards
- Fixed: tags looking weird on items with Full Gear tags
- Fixed: the Pressure Tank would create water in walls
- Fixed: bosses would have wrong animations when moving
- Fixed: wrench slamming sounds being weirdly loud
- Fixed: bombs would delete other bombs (now, they all explode at once!)
- Fixed: "Unlock All" being available in Traditional Mode
- Fixed: right-click would sometimes pan way too far
Thanks for reading and be sure to stick around for the full release - I might be handing out some keys...
